Dr. med. dent. K.
Profession: Dentist and postgraduate orthodontic student in her fith year of training
from: near Berlin, Germany.
Why did you become an orthodontist?
I knew very soon that I wanted to work in the dental field, since a few of my family members are dentists. From my young years I used to help out in dental offices. So I grew up in that profession and always felt comfortable doing it.
I especially love orthodontics because its challenging and I get to see a variety of cases every day, while I get bored of the everyday cases of other dental professions very quickly.
Why don’t you disclose your real name?
In my experience the internet can be a scary place sometimes. This way I can separate my real patients from my followers.
What advice would you give to an aspiring orthodontist?
Set your goals high and stay disciplined to make them come true. Your training should be most important to you, so you should stay flexible at all times to go or move to places where you can get the best training possible. Be picky for who you trust to teach you best. The best teacher sometimes isn’t practicing right next to you.
What is your favorite aspect of your job?
I love the chair-time with my patients. It’s a very personal relationship I built with them and try to treat everyone as my personal guest. Most our patients lose their fear of coming to the orthodontist after the first few appointments with us and I hope they feel somehow at home at our office now.
What inspires you at work?
I get motivated most by seeing other excellent orthodontists cases. That’s why I´d fly all around the globe to see the best possible standard in my field. I try to implement I´ve learned and I raise my bar every time I see someone else do better. I know my strive for excellence will never stop because learning new things make me happy.
What inspires you outside of work?
A lot of things inspire me. I was a very scared person growing up till I just recently learned how much fun it is to leave your comfort zone and try out new hobbies. This is why I love to push myself to try out every new thing I get offered (at least once). So far I have taken multiple sports courses and plan to do more of them in the future.
What is the most important thing about your medical uniform?
My requirements for a good medical form are very high: It needs to be stylish, comfortable, warm but breathable, antibacterial, washable, not to be ironed after every wash, easy and quick to put on and off and come in a few fun colors– all at the same time.
Until I ordered from Scrub-Suppy I have tried multiple companies and they all failed at least in one category or another.
What are the benefits of having Scrubs by Scrub-Suppy in your work wardrobe?
Workwear by Scrub-Supply is the first to meet all of my expectations. I put them on in just a minute. They don’t get as wrinkly as other fabrics do. They are also stylish and comfortable to wear at the same time.
I feel very special wearing these elegant and sophisticated scrubs. They give me confidence and most important they do their job excellently so I can focus on doing mine.
